Hey All, In an effort to reduce the number of uploads done by bots, a CAPTCHA has been added to the upload form. A cool thing to not about the captcha system we are using is that, as it is used, people are helping to decode books! See: http://recaptcha.net/learnmore.htmlIn the coming days/weeks there will be much more added to help prevent companies like MediaDefender from polluting our database. |

That sounds cool as it'll save a lot of time browsing through the torrents, and no doubt a lot of time getting rid of the garbage-gjg

Yeah, it should help. I'm in the process of a "Karma" system that will be tied into both the Voting and Rating system. Will allow for MUCH easier identification of problem uploaders.
I'm currently monitoring the uploads to see how users deal with the new change and if they understand what to do. I would hope so, I think it is fairly clear.

I see you had a failed upload. From this end it appears you did not enter the CAPTCHA in the box... Any problem I should address? |

 yup with IE6 I could see the box at the bottom of the upload page, but not with firefox although I did have a popup from mozilla today about an update that I haven't done yet so I"m going to shut it down and then perform the update and see what happens-gjg

I like the new upload rules especially the one for passworded archives without stating the password-BAN
