Rules and Guidelines (FAQ's below)

These Rules have been reviewed and approved by nitroburn. (owner/admin)

(Updated August 17, 2007)

Hello everybody!

Welcome to TorrentPortal. We are glad you've decided to to become a member. So here are some very simple rules that you need to follow in order to keep this place enjoyable for everyone.

As you probably noticed on the main page - we only discourage few things:

Profanities and substandard language.
Disrespectful attitude towards other members.
Posts that are hateful/offensive in their nature.

Use of profanity or indecent language is discouraged here at Torrent Portal. Anyone doing so consistently, will be warned verbally the first time and formally the second ( No systematic foul language anywhere on the site. This includes Chat.).

So use your common sense and make sure that your posts don't offend anyone.

Please do not Flame or Insult any member. If you have any trouble report it to the staff and we'll take care of the rest.

There is currently NO trading being done at TorrentPortal. If you post a trade, it will be removed. If you post requesting an invite, it will be removed as well.

For those wanting free invites, we suggest you sign up at one of the following sites-
http://invitescentral.net.tc/
or
http://trackerinvites.com/ucp.php?mode=register

*We have no more warning system.
Accounts are either partially banned, disabled or permanently banned, depending on what rule was broken and the moderator. If it's serious enough, bye bye account.

Remember; Before asking any questions, read the RULES and Search the forums.

Please do not post your email address in the forum. This is to protect your privacy.

Feel free to answer any questions.

No consistent off-topic posts allowed in the forums. (i.e. Spamming or hijacking another member's thread.)

No SPAMMING. Please use the "Spam Can" to promote or advertise your site.

No more multiple accounts- If we find any, we WILL ban all related accounts and WILL do our best to make sure you do not return.

These rules may be updated as needed, so please, check back frequently.

Thank you and enjoy the site!

First, please review the link below...

When asking for help or passwords - provide as much information as possible. For example - if you have problems with software - tell us the exact name of the program you're trying to run, your computer specifications, what kind of error messages you're getting, where did you get your program from, what operation system you're using, etc. When it comes to passwords - full name of the file, where you downloaded it from (post the link to the download page), if there are any .txt of .nfo files - what do they say, etc. Same for the hardware problems - detailed description of the problem, error messages, etc.

Due to some legal issues you are not allowed to post serial numbers in the forums.

Now some FAQs

Q: So, why I cannot swear? What about my freedom of speech?
A: Swearing only shows your level of intelligence and can be offensive. After all - how hard is it to use clean language?

Q: But I've seen people asking for the passwords for some movies and the names of the movies contain bad words!
A: Yes, but our members didn't name those movies. They only use the full names of them in order to provide an accurate information. So we can help them. It's not their fault that creators of the movies have chosen to use bad words.

Q: I see. There are so many topics. How can I find if my question has already been answered?
A: Use SEARCH.

Q: I want to promote my site or some of the products I sell.
A: Use Spam Can.

Q: Why some of my posts are being moved?
A: Before you post - make sure you do it in the right forum. If you post your passwords request in Electronics section - chances are that people who can help will ever see it. That's why moderators are moving posts to the right sections.

Q: Why some of my posts are being deleted?
A: That's because you made several posts with the same question(s). Please make sure you don't do it in the future. It is totally unnecessary and may even be considered as flooding with you risking to receive a warning. Also please make sure that the context of your posts complies with our rules.

Q: I'm still lost.
A: Be patient. Choose the forum to post your question in. Search and see if it's been answered already. Read our HELP section.

Q: Can I just PM one of the mods or top posters with the question?
A: Yes you can. However it's better to post in the forums. People you're PMing might be not around so you'll have much better chance of getting your question(s) answered when posing in the forums.

Q: What is Shoutbox? Can I ask questions there?
A: Shoutbox is, well, shoutbox. Anytime someone wants to shout something profound or amusing - they go there. Of course you can ask questions there, just don't expect an answer. Go to the forums and post there.

So that's it. Its that simple.

Have fun!"

If you are new (or not-) please familiarize yourself with and respect the rules.
